Liquid nitrogen freezer BioCryo102 is designed for
microprocessor controlled cooling/heating of biologic samples in the temperature
interval -190 ... +50 °C. The freezing rates are programmable in the interval
from 0.1 to 7 degrees/min. The biologic samples for cooling/ thawing are placed
in the sample chamber which is connected to the inner or outer liquid nitrogen
reservoir. The liquid nitrogen flow rate is regulated by a heater placed inside
of reservoir. Liquid nitrogen evaporates and flows into the active chamber to
cool the samples. The sample chamber shape in various modifications corresponds
to the type of samples (vials, straws, pockets). The active chamber and inner
reservoir are temperature isolated using vacuum isolation. This results in low
external heat flows and low liquid nitrogen consumption. The freezing/heating
protocols are controlled by microprocessor according to the user defined way.
The user can set basic points of the protocol in the interval -190 ... +50 °C
and cooling/heating rates between them. The number of basic points can be varied
between 2 and 7.

The structure of the driving program enables linear
protocols and approximation of nonlinear. The used-optimized protocol can be
stored in the device memory. The microprocessor contains 10 standard protocols
for different biologic samples. The control device is equipped by light and
sound alarm which indicates the status of biologic samples. The samples can be
held at a constant temperature for a long
time.
